Announcing a new continuing education opportunity offered through the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association Field Services (HSVMA-RAVS).
HSVMA-RAVS is a non-profit organization, developed as a service learning program, providing much needed veterinary services to underserved rural communities throughout the United States and abroad. We operate multiple field clinics which are staffed largely by volunteers from within the veterinary field, professional and student alike. Historically, experienced veterinary technicians have been our greatest need, which holds true today. We rely on experienced technicians to ensure efficient operation of the clinic and to assist in teaching veterinary technician and veterinary medical students.
Many people volunteer with us solely for the unique experience they know they are going to receive while others participate because of a desire to use their skills and education to make a difference in the lives of others. Regardless of the reason for joining us on an expedition, we are happy to announce that in 2008 HSVMA-RAVS secured 10 hours of RACE approved continuing education for technicians who participate in our clinics.
